Shock and awe in the Justice League vs Suicide Squad finale with more revelations and setting the stage for new super groups in the DC Universe.

Could fans be witness to what will lead to the DC Rebirth of three super teams?

DC already revealed this crossover would set up the new Justice League of America by Steve Orlando. Now we know how bad guys will join Batman’s new team.

When Batman discovered Amanda Waller’s big secret the League vs. Squad fight was on but bigger threats were ready to strike.

Maxwell Lord made a killer comeback along with his own sinister squad of villains making their DC Rebirth debuts. The big shocker was Maxwell Lord and his evil crew were the original Task Force X. Then Lord unleashed Eclipso.

The finale also cements what you should aleady know:

Never Underestimate Amanda Waller!

JLA artist Howard Porter joined writer Joshua Williamson and Alex Sinclair for this an action and secret filled conclusion to the first big DC Rebirth event.

If you declare war on Waller, don’t lose because “The Wall” will make you pay…dearly.

Before we break down and speculate on what’s next following this week’s Justice League vs. Suicide #6 here’s a SPOILER WARNING.

If you have not read this week’s finale stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.
The super drama picks up with Maxwell Lord possessed by Eclipso, who quickly darkened the sun unleashing an evil outbreak in Washington D.C. The Justice League (except Batman) and the Suicide Squad were corrupted. With the heavy hitters turned evil Batman formed an unlikely trio with Lobo and Killer Frost to stop Eclipso. Since Eclipso’s weakness is sunlight and that Superman is solar powered, Batman gets Killer Frost to build a prism to convert Superman’s heat vision into sunlight. Lobo battled the corrupt Leaguers while Bruce baits Superman. The Man of Steel’s solar blast hits the prism burning out Eclipso’s influence.

Killer Frost refuses to kill when Waller orders her to take out Lord. Caitlin’s heroic actions impress Batman who orders Waller to release Caitlin.
Waller agrees. Killer Frost and Lobo will join Batman’s rebooted Justice League of America…coming soon.

Batman, the League and Squad were all being played.

Waller’s endgame:

Lord’s discover of the original Squad and his theft of the Eclipso diamond were Waller’s plan to get the Justice League off her trail.

Lord is Waller’s prisoner and we assume he’s about to be forced to join her Suicide Squad.

Waller has “other plans” and his “talents would be wasted in Task Force X” and he’s “perfect for Task Force XI.”

The X in Task Force X is not a letter but a number for a program? Was there a Task Force 1-9? What is Task Force XI and how else is in the program?

Lord’s fellow team member Emerald Empress is a 31st century villain of the Legion of Super-Heroes. The Empress will turn up in Supergirl #8. Will she find out Legion member Saturn Girl is trapped in this time in Arkham Asylum as revealed in recent Batman issues? Is this another big omen that a new Legion of Super-Heroes title is on the horizon?

Johnny Sorrow was among Lord’s team who got his pre-Rebirth origin as a villain of the Justice Society of America? Is this a clue the beloved JSA team and title will return?

How does this fit into the big mystery of the DC Universe Rebirth?

Stay tuned for more clues in The Button, a crossover in Batman and The Flash coming in April.
