Josh Helman has joined the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past according to The Wrap. The Australian actor (Home and Away, The Pacific, Jack Reacher) co-starred with Nicholas Hoult (who reprises his X-role as Hank McCoy aka Beast) in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Helman’s role is a secret but it must be significant since he’s on set for an extended time according to the story.

The film is based on the classic Chris Claremont story of a small group of  X-Men in a dark future who attempt to change history by going into the past to prevent an assassination. Actors from the original X-trilogy and X-Men: First Class unite for the new film directed by Bryan Singer.

The actor sure looks like he could play a young Scott Summers (aka Cyclops.) So far James Marsden (the adult Scott from the original trilogy) and Lucas Till (his brother Alex aka Havok) have not been listed in the credits for this film.

Who do you think Helman is playing in the sequel?
