Marvel makes its official:
Josh Brolin is Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Earlier this year, the actor joined the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy as the voice of the cosmic super villain first seen in the post-credits of The Avengers.
Brolin will be seen as the Mad God of Titan in Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1.
Director James Gunn will return to helm Guardians of the Galaxy 2 scheduled for July 28, 2017.
Thanos was the mystery villain behind Loki’s attempted invasion of Earth with Chithauri warriors.
The main villains of Guardians is Ronan (Lee Pace) who serves Thanos and Nebula (Karen Gillan) the daughter of the Mad God.
All signs have pointed to Avengers 3 possibly based on The Infinity Gauntlet, in which all Marvel’s heroes team up against Thanos, who has the literal ultimate power of life and death with the cosmic weapon. We’ve seen the Gauntlet in Thor, an Infinity gem in Thor: The Dark World and will make see one or more in Guardians. Watch for it in the movie next week.
