Who is Iron Fist?
He may not be most famous hero but he’s one of the coolest.
What do you need to know before the latest hero joins the Marvel universe on Netflix?
Finn Jones has been cast as Danny Rand in the Marvel Netflix Iron Fist series according to EW. The upcoming series along with others starring Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones will lead to a team-up Defenders limited series.
As a boy, Danny joined his parents on a search for the mystical city of K’un L’un in the Himalayas. The tragic expedition led to Danny being raised by the city’s leader where he grew up to be a martial arts master and wielder of the mystical force (the Iron Fist) which allows him to summon and focus his chi.
Rand is filled with superhuman energy after plunging his fist into the heart of a legendary dragon. Rand returned to New York City for revenge and later became a costumed crimefigher and friends with Luke Cage (then known as Power Man.)
Iron Fist was created by the legendary Roy Thomas and Gil Kane. Some of the most famous creators have wanted to work with the beloved character and contributed the legacy of the hero.

Iron Fist Epic Collection: Fury of Iron Fist by Chris Claremont. The writer behind the stories that inspired the X-Men films pitted Danny Rand against death cults, armies of ninjas and the killer who would become Wolverine’s greatest enemy: Wolverine.
Power Man & Iron Fist Epic Collection: Heroes for Hire by Jo Duffy and Claremont. Marvel’s Man of Steel and street smarts teamed up with the Kung Fu master in the beginning of comic’s favorite duos. Luke Cage and Danny Rand formed Heroes-For-Hire taking on crazy cases, vicious villains while making ends meet. Marvel just announced a revival of the team-up book by David Walker and Sanford Greene.
New Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis. The Heroes for Hire stepped up to the big league when Bendis recruited Luke Cage and later Iron Fist for his acclaimed Avengers run.
No official word on when Iron Fist will strike but we could see Rand on the upcoming seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones or Luke Cage.
