The fan-favorite family of the future jets into comic book shops.
THE JETSONS return for new space adventures in a six-issue mini-series from writer Jimmy Palmiotti with art by Pier Brito.
DC Comics shared a first look inside the new comic in the books based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons.
“When I was asked to write a Jetsons mini-series, I went back and watched the original series from my childhood,” said Palmiotti. “I ended up wondering how their space-age world wound up in the situation it’s in and about the events that got them there.”
Here’s the cast of the new Hanna-Barbera title:
George is a family man living an analog life in a digital world. His wife, Jane, is a brilliant NASA scientist working off-world at a conference, his daughter Judy is a social butterfly trying to discover her calling, and his boy Elroy is either doing homework or using robotic technology to break the rules. Strangest of all, George’s mother has downloaded herself into Rosie the robot.
“I had some pretty wild ideas and wanted to find someone to illustrate the series that could help deliver a take on the characters, and their world, that most people have never seen before,” explained Palmiotti. “With that in mind, I went hunting for just the right team and was lucky to find Pier Brito for the job.”
Here’s the official descriptions for the premiere:
THE JETSONS #1, doom rockets toward this postmodern family from the outer reaches of the galaxy on a crash course for destruction! Will what Elroy and his friend Lake uncover on their secret mission help the Jetsons understand more about what led them to their current situation? Can they manage to stay out of trouble and avoid further ruin?
THE JETSONS #1 arrives November 1, 2017.
