I DREAM OF DEADPOOL II

The band is getting back together!

Ryan Reynolds will suit up again with director Tim Miller for a Deadpool sequel. Fox made it official at CinemaCon according to The Wrap.

Deadpool killed it at the box-office smashing several records and even becoming the biggest moneymaking X-Men film for the studio.

No word on if writers Rhett Miller, Paul Wernick and co-stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller and Leslie Uggams will be back for the sequel.

After sharing Deadpool’s origin, introducing Vanessa Carlyle, Weasel, Blind Al and Ajax with muc inspiration from Joe Kelly’s comic book run, where will the writers go next for the sequel?

We’re had more time to ponder and here are our updated sequel wishes as I dream of Deadpool Two:

Bring Baccarin Back!

Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin had the most intense chemistry of any comic book couple on screen. In the comics, Vanessa is a mutant shapeshifter Copycat. We first saw Vanessa impersonating Domino in X-Force (she was working for Wade) before her real identity was exposed. The Firefly alum could pull off a double role as impersonator and mercenary.

The next Negasonic Teenage Warhead?

I never would have imagined to see this mutant in a major X-Men movie but it worked. Negasonic Teenage Warhead only appeared in (alive) in one X-Men issue but Brianna Hildebrand was a scene stealer even though she has different powers, personality and backstory. If Team Deadpool made N.T.W. work then maybe they have fun with some of the worst X-Men ever like Maggott and Marrow.

Adjust Your Cable! If you stayed to see the post-credits scene…SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not seen Deadpool stop reading now.

Seriously.

Here it comes.

Deadpool teased the big screen appearance of Cable in the sequel.

In New Mutants/X-Force, Cable was mentor of a squad of young mutants. He’s actually the cyborg/mutant son of Cyclops from a future ruled by Apocalypse. Sound heavy but Cable aka Nathan actually had to lighten up when co-creator Fabian Nicieza paired Cable & Deadpool into a hilarious, action buddy book that gained a fan-following by keeping the mix of action, humor, fourth wall breaking fun established by Kelly.

Those are three ingredients we hope to see swirling in the sequel.

Expect a Deadpool or Cable Easter Egg in X-Men: Apocalypse this May.

Could Fox lure Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine one more time to join Reynolds in a X-Force film? Logan did lead a version of the team with the Merc With the Mouth.

Who do you want to see in Deadpool II?
