Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller is a classic.

We know it.

Hugh Jackman knew it, too.

Now the story is finally reaching the big screen in The Wolverine.

At the Fox SDCC panel Jackman talked about reading the story years ago to prep for his first time at Logan.

“Thirteen years ago, I was reading this book in my trailer doing ‘X-Men,’ and I said, ‘This is the movie we need to make.'”

“His saving grace and his Kryptonite is women,” Jackman said, and that there are “four great women” in “The Wolverine.” “Speaking as Wolverine, it’s great!”

The Wolverine opens Friday. Jackman will reprise his role as Logan in X-Men: Days of Future Past next year.
