The world saw a first look at Ben Affleck as the new Dark Knight in the first teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

If you were lucky enough to get in the IMAX previews you saw more footage of the clash of DC icons.

Henry Cavill returns as Superman with Zack Snyder directing but the star says the 2016 film is not a Man of Steel sequel.

“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel,” Cavill told MTV News at CinemaCon. “This is Batman versus Superman. It’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe, which was kicked off by ’Man of Steel.’”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in March 2016.

You can see Cavill this summer in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. with Armie Hammer (who almost played Batman in a potential Justice League film that never took flight.)
