HARLEY QUINN: A CELEBRATION OF 25 YEARS arrives September 13th. But that’s not all.

In honor of the bad girl’s anniversary DC Comics announced the Bat-villain turned beloved anti-hero will take over DC’s annual Batman Day celebration on September 23, 2017.

Hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Dr. Harleen Quinzel first appeared on BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. The Joker’s therapist turned partner in mad love and crime proved so popular Harley Quinn jumped from television to comics. Harley dumped her “Mistah J” and became her own woman – scoring multiple comic book series. Harley almost rivals Batman when it comes to number of books.

The big reveal came at the DC Harley Quinn: Celebrating 25 Years panel at SDCC. Moderator and current HARLEY QUINN writer Jimmy Palmiotti headed panelists including Amanda Conner, Paul Dini, Chad Hardin, Alex Sinclair and Tara Strong.

Harley is a comics powerhouse in multiple titles but got her start on the small screen. Harley Quinn debuted on BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES in the episode “Joker’s Favor,” which originally aired in September 1992.

Co-created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, Harley Quinn jumped to comics with solo books, limited series and she’s a member of Suicide Squad.

DC will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Harley Quinn new releases in the coming months including, HARLEY QUINN: A ROGUES GALLERY—THE DELUXE COVER ART COLLECTION, HARLEY QUINN 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL #1, and an oversized anniversary issue featuring Harley’s entire cast of crazy characters, HARLEY QUINN #25.
