Adam West is 86 today.
For generations of comic book fans, the Batman series of the 1960’s was our “in” to the wonderful world of comic book superheroes. I still remember running off the school bus to catch reruns of the classic show before I did my homework.
A new generation will soon experience the Dynamic Duo as the Batman series finally arrives on blu-ray and dvd. The Adam West groove lives on in the new Batman ’66 digital comic book series.
After six decades in show business West is still working as “Mayor West”on Family Guy and appearing at Comic Cons around the country.
West was born in Seattle and raised in Walla Walla, Washington. 2013 was a homecoming as Adam West and Burt Ward kicked off Emerald City Comicon 2013 with a screening of their Batman movie. The Seattle Cinerama was packed with loyal fans as West and Ward shared hilarious stories of the show before the big movie.
Happy Bat-Birthday Adam West and thanks for the great roles but especially for bringing a sense of fun to the Dark Knight.
