A star-studded phenomenon is born!
Marvel’s biggest cinematic gamble looks like it could be a payoff.
The first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy blasted off during Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel bring the space-faring heroes to life on the big screen under director James Gunn.

Pratt is Peter Quill, a human who will become known as Star-Lord. Quill meets Gamora (Saldana) Drax (Bautista) Rocket Raccoon (Cooper) and Groot (Diesel) in an outer space prison.
Ronan (Lee Pace) and Nebula the space pirate (Karen Gillan) are the villains after Quill to steal an orb he possesses. The team will encounter The Collector (Benicio Del Toro) last seen in Thor: The Dark World.
The first trailer packed more humor than I expected while setting up the “legend of Star-Lord” and Quill’s band of outlaws who will become the galaxy’s greatest and maybe funniest heroes.
Guardians of the Galaxy arrives August 1st.
