It’s not just The Court of Owls coming to Gotham but a darker force coming for young Bruce Wayne?

The introduction of the Galavans (James Frain, Jessica Lucas) immediately made some comic readers suspect these sinister siblings were connected to the ancient organization introduced in Scott Snyder’s Batman run.

Scarification this week’s went deep into the history and mythology of the Wayne Family and Gotham City. It left no doubt who the Galavans really yet hinted at the terrifying evil coming. What’s coming is tied to another ancient society connected to the man who replaced Bruce Wayne as Batman!

SPOILER ALERT!

Once we saw the knife we thought…is this a weapon of a Talon, the enforcers of The Court of Owls?

Theo Galavan ordered Penguin to steal and a legend of Gotham’s five families was exposed.

An antiques dealer named Edwige told the tale of “old time Gotham” 200 years ago which included a name drop of the Crownes, of which Dick Grayson is a descendant as we learned in The Court of Owls.  The big names were the ruthless Waynes and the Duma, ancestors of the Galavans who were exiled from the city.

The knife in question is what Jonathan Wayne used to cut the hand off Caleb Duma after being caught with Celestine Wayne. Penguin now has the knife and the secret of Galavan’s identity and motive.

Could Theo be The Architect who exacts revenge on the five families. Edwige states the Elliots, Kanes, Duma, Waynes. Is the fifth family going to be the Cobblepots?

In the final moments Theo is joined by Father Creel who says Gotham will be “redeemed in blood” and wants Bruce Wayne dead.

A religious figure. Duma.

Is the Order of St. Dumas going to be the real villains instead of The Court of Owls?

In Batman comics The Order of St. Dumas evolved from the Knights Templar founded by a man names Dumas. Even Ra’s Al Ghul had exploits with the Order and called the founder as a vicious fanatic. The Order split and one faction created super powered warriors called Azrael named for the Angel of Death. Jean-Paul Valley was a modern descendant of the assassins and became Batman when Bruce Wayne’s back was broken by Bane during Knightfall.

Could the exiled Duma have founded The Order and are now back for blood and revenge against the only Wayne left?
