Gotham is back unleashing new madness, monsters and mysteries for Season 3 aka Mad City.

Producers promised Heroes Will Fall this season. Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell set the stage for a gang war of freaks, Jim Gordon off the force and edging the dark side of justice and Bruce Wayne served up for a dark judgment.

While Wayne stalks the truth about his parents killers and the conspiracy of Indian Hill his doppelganger stalks him.

James Gordon is working the streets of Gotham City…as a bounty hunter.

Penguin is plotting his revenge against Fish Mooney that could transform him into Gotham’s new crusader?

And the debut of Gotham City Sirens…sort of.

Here are our biggest burning questions after the Gotham Season 3 premiere.

Before we begin here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not watched this week’s Gotham stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

Was that Killer Croc?

Fish Mooney’s escape from Indian Hill unleashed an army of monsters transformed in Hugo Strange’s labs. Bounty hunter Gordon tries to capture a massive reptilian escapee with a resemblance to Waylon Jones. While this outlaw wasn’t completely covered in scales as seen in Suicide Squad, he sure had all the other traits that made old school Batfans make the leap. Maybe this is an early version of Jones and he may devolve into more a crocodile man…if he survived that car crash?

Unleash the Talon?

At a board meeting, young Master Wayne practically made himself an even bigger target and dared the conspirators to “come at me” by accusing board members of being part of the plot that killed his parents and fund Strange’s Indian Hill experiments. After Wayne’s accusation, a call was made to the mystery masked woman with the Court of Owls who then ordered another masked man (this one in black) to kill Wayne. Is this a Talon – one of the Court’s In the comics, the Court has an assassin to enforce their will. This Talon is usually a super powered, resurrected from the dead killer. Could the masked henchman be Lincoln March?

The real Bat-Man of Gotham?

When Gordon sets a trap using Strange’s assistant as bait, Fish Mooney sends a squad of her monstrous fellow escapees to grab her including a man who sprouts wings when he falls out of a window? Reporter Valerie Vale captures Gordon holding the winged man. Is this Kirk Langstrom…known in comics as the Man-Bat? Langstrom turned himself into the creature but his origin could be changed for this series.

Poison Ivy’s rebirth begins?

Young Ivy appeared to fall to a watery death but we know the character will evolve into a grown woman with the recasting of the character. Will Ivy’s exposure to Strange’s super powered inmates and her apparent watery grave lead to a new seed of evil and birth of Poison Ivy?

Selina’s choice?

The future Catwoman left Bruce after last season to join Fish’s gang but with Mooney’s slaughter and the loss of Ivy, will Selina desert her new mentor? Plus, the Bruce Doppelganger has developed a potentially twisted fixation on her.

Sirens?

Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn headlined the Gotham City Sirens in comics but we have a different Sirens on screen. Barbara and Tabitha are in love, in same and in business together as owners of the hottest new underworld nightclub in the city. Any rival mobsters who think they can take over this club should watch out – Barb and Tab will literally kill their competition but what will be the consequences from the rest of the underworld?

Fish Mooney’s clock is ticking?

The mob queen came back from the dead with new powers thanks to Strange’s experiments but we learn she’s paying a dangerous price for that ability. Every time Fish unleashes her mind control it kills her a little more. Can she find Strange in time to get a cure or will she die again in a blaze of mental power with an army of monsters at her bidding? Thanks to an imprisoned Edward Nygma’s prodding, Penguin is ready to devour Fish leading a public and underworld crusade against the new threat on Gotham’s streets.

The Court of Owls Woman?

Bruce will come face to face with the mystery woman behind the white owl mask next episode. Is she someone we’ve seen before or a femme fatale from comics?

Gotham airs Mondays at 8pm on Fox.
