Are the stars aligning for Fox’s reboot of the Fantastic Four?
Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones) and Saoirse Ronan are testing for the roles of Reed Richards and Susan Storm according to Variety. The report goes on to say Miles Teller and Jack O’Connell will be considered for Richards while Kate Mara will test for Sue.
Reed and Sue become Marvel’s ultimate power couple, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman. With actors this young it sure look likes Fox is rebooting from the beginning and not picking up from the earlier FF movies.
Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class) recently joined the creative team as a write/producer. Josh Trank (Chronicle) is directing. Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class) is producing with Mark Millar overseeing the creative direction of the reboot at all Marvel characters controlled by Fox. With the success of The Avengers using The Ultimates as a basis, it’s possible Fox will use Ultimate Fantastic Four (both by Millar) as the foundation for the reboot.
