From DOCTOR WHO to FANTASTIC FOUR?

After pulling myself together after watching The Time of the Doctor I had an inspiration: Matt Smith as Reed Richards?

Yes, we’ll work on the hair but…

While looking back at the Eleventh Doctor era I kept seeing Smith as the leader of Marvel’s First Family. If you look at Matt Smith’s first Doctor Who episode The Eleventh Hour you can see his shyness and vulnerability when asking Amy Pond to be his companion for adventures in time and space. I could easily see Smith as Reed Richards trying to woo Susan Storm in Fox’s reboot of Fantastic Four.  When you’ve watched Smith as the Doctor you see how could portray FF villain Victor Von Doom, too. Smith is an actor like Christian Bale who was brilliant as Bruce Wayne/Batman but could have been perfect as the Joker.

Smith is a brilliant actor who could play anything but this man is perfect or a comic book film. Marvel is recruiting Doctor Who vets for their film franchise: Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston played the villain Malekith in Thor: The Dark World. Karen Gillan is playing Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy.

After three seasons as the Doctor – Matt Smith can make the most fantastical sci-fi premise believable, inspiring and human. Let’s hope a studio signs on Smith and this gifted actor can bring his talent and star power to a worthy comic book hero or villain.

This is just this geek’s opinion. What hero or villain could you see Smith portraying?
