Free Comic Book Day is almost here. This unofficial geek holiday is like a second Christmas and your local comic book shop and major publishers are Santa Claus and magic elves.
The first Saturday in May is when you can pick up FREE comic books at participating shops. Different stores have different rules. For example, you may be limited to only two or you may have to buy a comic to get a free one while some stores let you pick up to eight comics. This is the comic book industry’s way to say thank you to fans, welcome new readers and support local stores.
Marvel is giving away brand new stories tied to their biggest events including Civil War II and Steve Rogers back as Captain America plus the All-New Wasp.
Valiant gives readers a first look at the nightmare future of 4001 A.D. their major summer event.
DC Comics is giving readers a classic Suicide Squad story plus an all-ages issue starring the DC Super Hero Girls.
More publishers will give free issue starring Doctor Who: Four Doctors, Bruce Lee: The Dragon Rises and everything some The Pink Panther to Pokemon and Spongebob Squarepants to Street Fighter. See the complete list of free comics offered here.
Visit FreeComicBookDay.com with a store locator to find a participating comic book shop near you by just plugging in your zip code like Zanadu Comics, our friendly Seattle neighborhood shop. Bring the family and head to your local store to get your free comic books and buy one or two to say thanks to shop for this bonus holiday.
