The world is belongs to the Crime Syndicate.

In the of The Trinity War the Justice League is dead.

It’s a recruitment time for the Crime Syndicate’s evil army.

Who will stop them?

It may take a criminal mind!

Forever Evil #1 by Geoff Johns and David Finch is a fast-paced, action-packed showcase of the DC Comics criminal underworld and sinister invaders from another world.

The Crime Syndicate are dark mirror versions of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Atom and a new character named Deathstorm – and there here to make DC’s greatest rogues an offer they can’t refuse – unless they want to die.

“The World Is Ours” is a message that pulses throughout the issue as we see the Crime Syndicate bust all Earth’s super prisons and gather the deadliest criminals to invite them to their New World Order. To prove their power and intent Nightwing is a served up as heroic raw meat to this ruthless audience hungry to see the remaining heroes suffer. The pain is just beginning for Richard Grayson and any hero left.

DC’s greatest criminal mastermind is left out of the party but serves as the bookends for this opening salvo. I love how Lex Luthor is portrayed as the ruthless corporate genius. He’s a free man and ready to coldly rebuild his empire when the Crime Syndicate rocks the world and leaves him asking for his great enemy.

Forever Evil #1 is an exciting start to a story starring the baddest of the bad guys and will it be a test of who is the greater evil? Should we get ready for Lex Luthor, heroic savior of Earth?
