First New Comic Book Day Picks of 2017

Harley Quinn #11 courtesy DC Comics

Welcome to our first new comic book picks of the week for 2017.

Harley Quinn #11

Joker Loves Harley begins! The past is haunting Harley. Reminders of her time with “Mistah J” are popping up unexpectedly. Coincidence or conspiracy? When Harley meets a newer, kinder Joker…Red Tool sees…red! Love hurts in this new arc from fan-favorite creative team Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and John Timms.

Justice League of America The Atom Rebirth #1

Spinning out of Justice League vs. Suicide Squad, a new JLA will be reborn. This is the first of four one-shots introducing the first four members. Ryan Choi/The Atom made a comeback as part of a bigger mystery in DC Universe: Rebirth and now his adventures continue in the regrouped super group by Steve Orlando and Ivan Reis.

Unstoppable Wasp #1

Nadia Pym is a Red Room survivor who joined the Avengers. Now Hank Pym’s genius daughter spreads her wings in a new ongoing solo book by Jeremy Whitley and Elsa Charretier.

US Avengers #1

American Intelligence Mechanics is here to save the world…and replace S.H.I.E.L.D.? Squirrel Girl, Cannonball, Captain America and Red Hulk are among the heroes who assemble to take on the Golden Skull in this new series from Al Ewing and Paco Medina. Ewing takes the crazy concepts and new role for New Mutant alum Roberto Da Costa and advances (like A.I.M.) it in this new series.

Deadpool the Duck #1

The Merc With a Mouth and an alien fowl named Howard in a “what the!?!” crossover by Stuart Moore. Wade Wilson’s latest mission runs him a-fowl (sorry but couldn’t resist) of the cigar-chomping Duck from another world over Marvel’s newest and waddling mercenary.

May you enjoy a new year full of comics you enjoy.
