Fantastic news! Marvel’s First Family will be reunited. New book. New creative team.
The publisher revealed a new FANTASTIC FOUR book will launch this summer. Reed Richards and Susan Storm Richards reunite with JOhnny Storm and Ben Grimm. Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski announced the FANTASTIC FOUR creative team will be Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli.
Hailed as Marvel’s First Family – Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Thing were the first creations of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby setting the stage for what would become the Marvel Universe.
At the end of SECRET WARS by Jonathan Hickman, a new Marvel universe was born in the aftermath of the Multiverse’s destruction by the Beyonders and Doctor Doom. Reed, Sue and their kids took off to help repair the reborn Multiverse. Doom became a hero in INFAMOUS IRON MAN. Ben and Johnny are currently starring in MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE by Chip Zdarsky where the seeds of a Fantastic reunion are sown. TWO-IN-ONE was a classic team-up book starring Thing and different guest heroes. Cebulski confirmed the current MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE book will continue.
Dan Slott is wrapping up his nearly decade long run on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. Slott will be writing FANTASTIC FOUR and a new TONY STARK, IRON MAN – featuring Stark’s return after being in a “coma” state after CIVIL WAR II.
FANTASTIC FOUR #1 arrives in August.
