More information about Fantastic Four #16 and FF #16 – the final issues of the series and the final issues of Editor Tom Brevoort’s incredible run with Marvel’s First Family.

Marvel made the Fantastic finale announcement and revealed the covers in a tribute to Brevoort at the Cup O’ Joe Panel at New York Comic Con. The January finales will be the end of Brevoort’s 14o+ issues as editor.

In the just released Marvel January previews we now more of the story in the final issues:

“The Fantastic Four are… DOOMED! Dr. Doom has taken on the power of Kang and Annihilus and is supreme ruler of the entire world. Good News: this is in the Doomed Universe. Bad News: our universe is next. The only ones in his way are the Fantastic Four and… the Fantastic Four! The Elemental Eight face off against Doom the Annihilating Conqueror with the fate of infinite realities in the balance! Plus the fate of Old John Storm! All in the fiery finish to the most mind-bending F4 adventure ever!

And in the FF finale issue – “For All We Have And Are”
“The final showdown. The last FF member standing, Scott Lang goes up against Dr. Doom alone — and everyone knows the Ant can’t. The smackdown of the century.
Plus an extra ten page bonus of F4/FF goodness co-written by Karl Kesel and the Allreds”

Matt Fraction recently left the books to start work on Inhumanity #1.

She-Hulk is getting her own series by Charles Soule.

Medusa will an Inhumanity tie-in series.

No word on Scott Lang or She-Thing’s future, not to mention Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben?

“That is the longest run on any Fantastic Four since Stan Lee.” aid Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada regarding the end Tom Brevoort’s editorial run.

As the All-New Marvel Now launches in 2014 the big question is when and who will relaunch Marvel’s First Family and if the Future Foundation will stay open.
