Emerald City Comicon announced the first special guests for the 2015 event: Writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jamie McKelvie.
The London-based creative team just launched The Wicked & The Divine for Image Comics and worked together on an acclaimed run of Marvel’s Young Avengers and their creator owned Phonogram.
Gillen has written acclaimed runs on Uncanny X-Men, Thor, Journey Into Mystery, Iron Man and will launch Angela: Asgard’s Assassin later this year. Gillen wrote Origin II, revealing more of Wolverine’s past, earlier this year.
Along with his art for several series, McKelvie is known for his iconic redesign for Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel and design work for the new Ms. Marvel.
Young Avengers won the Outstanding Comic Book at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards.
Emerald City Comicon is March 27-29, 2015 in Seattle at the Washington State Convention Center. Tickets go on sale September 1st.
The 2014 event completely sold out two weeks before the event.
