Marvel announced Edward James Olmos will join Agents of S.H.I.EL..D. this Spring. The actor will play Robert Gonzalez whose debut will have “massive repurcussions for Director Coulson and his team.”

The veteran actor is known for playing Commander William Adama on Battlestar Galactica and his roles on Miami Vice and in Blade Runner.

“Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice–including our favorite Agents.”

Olmos is a two-time Golden Globe winner and was nominated for an Oscar for his leading role in Stand and Deliver.

Agents of S.H.I.EL..D. returns March 3 on ABC.
