During the panel Johns debuted six interior panels by Gary Frank with colors by Brad Anderson. The art confirms Doctor Manhattan’s involvement in DOOMSDAY CLOCK.

The hints began in DC UNIVERSE REBIRTH one-shot by Johns and continued in THE BUTTON four-part story in BATMAN and THE FLASH.

DOOMSDAY CLOCK brings the heroes and villains from the DC Universe together with the Watchmen Universe. During the panel, Johns announced that the series would be Superman centric and it will start one year in the future from current DC continuity. Timelines will link up at the conclusion of the series where readers will see characters that have been affected by the events in DOOMSDAY CLOCK.

WATCHMEN was an epic limited series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons published by DC but set in an alternate universe. The Watchmen were the all-powerful Doctor Manhattan, Rorschach, Ozymandias, Nite-Owl, The Comedian and Silk Spectre. In the world Richard Nixon is still President with the U.S. still in the Cold War with the Soviet Union. The Doomsday Clock is the one scientists use to demonstrate the world’s countdown to nuclear war.
