The latest version of X-Force comes to a close with a major showdown. Cable and his squad take the fight to their teammate turned enemy Fantomex in issue 15 this week. Si Spurrier has a track record of X-books starring the most out there mutants among a race of outcasts including X-Club, X-Men Legacy with Legion and Blindfold and the nearly departed X-Force.

As Spurrier discussed the final mission briefing one fan asked about a character dear to our hearts: Domino.

What might have been with Neena if the book wasn’t coming to an end.

“That’s one of the regrets I still have, actually. I’d planned to use Neena to throw another interesting emotional matrix into the mix. To an extent she’s like a more mature version of Marrow: she gets off on the thrill, she’s been through a lot of stuff, but she’s not quite as buggy or laissez faire. On a long enough timeline I’d imagined a sort of little-sister/big-sister relationship forming between them, with predictably dark and guilt-stricken twists along the way. In the event time wasn’t on my side. I still think Domino gets a satisfying arc of her own here, but yeah — she arguably undergoes the least amount of change amongst all of my guys and gals,” Spurrier replied on Comic Book Resources.

Spurrier did hint at an upcoming Marvel project to be announced soon.

Domino did make a cameo with Colossus in The Once and Future Juggernaut arc of Amazing X-Men by Chris Yost. Neena and Peter hooked up in Cable and X-Force but now Colossus is hearing the call of Cytorrak again.

We’re huge Domino fans. Her two-part team-up with Daredevil in previous X-Men volume convinced us she’s ready for her own solo book.

X-Force may be over for now….but there’s an A-Force coming this May?

Domino could be a great addition to the all-female squad but with any luck she will a book to call home after Secret Wars.
