I don’t want him to go.
Death of Wolverine #4 arrives this week.
The final chapter in the final adventure of the fan-favorite X-Man.
Wolverine lost his healing factor. The mutant who’s lived for centuries will finally meet his maker. In this last chapter Logan could meet his re-maker.
Writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven have crafted a story of Logan reconnecting with friends and enemies from his past in a global chase from the U.S. to Madripoor to Japan.
After encounters with Sabretooth, Viper, Ogun and more rivals it all comes back to the scientist behind the Weapon X Project – the man who turned the mutant into a living weapon.
As Soule closes the book on Wolverine’s life, he opens a new one on the impact of the X-Man’s death.
How will Logan’s friends, teammates and foes react to losing him?
Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1 is the first chapter of a seven-part series focusing on the X-Man’s family and greatest foes. This week’s first part is by Soule and artist Oliver Nome.
“Think of the death of Wolverine as an inciting event, one thing that has seismic-level effects on the lives of a great deal of the Marvel Universe,” Soule told Marvel.com. “We’ll start in Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy by examining those effects on people close to Wolverine, but over time, we’ll range far and wide to see what sort of black hole Logan’s death actually leaves.”
“We intentionally picked characters with close ties to Logan, either through past history—Deathstrike and Sabretooth—or through genetics—Daken and X-23. Mystique is a bit of a wildcard in the mix,” X-Men Editor Mike Marts told Marvel.com.
“It’s also about choosing a group that could be given a very full set of character beats. The way these people related to Logan—and to each other—varies drastically from person to person. So, we get to illuminate a different aspect of Wolverine through these various points of view, and have rich mines to vein for upcoming stories.” added Soule.
