Namor the Sub-Mariner evolved from arrogant hero to ruthless villain willing to do anything to save Earth. The King of Atlantis betrayed the Illuminati and joined a Cabal including Thanos to destroy other worlds before they could destroy ours.
The writer reveals why “The First Mutant” will get killed off”
“It was a combination of a couple of things. One, it speaks of Squadron Supreme’s mission statement. Which is that they really are this hard-line group that will not put up with anything or anybody who will detract work.
And also, it was kind based on the fact that Namor destroyed Doctor Spectrum’s world.” Robinson told ComicBook.com.
“And was basically in the last few years Namor has crossed the line from an anti-hero to something a little bit darker.I mean we’ve seen absolutely no remorse whatsoever from him lately.”
Namor already had a bitter rivalry with Black Panther after their nations went to war in Avengers vs. X-Men. Then Namor joined up with Thanos to massacre heroes and worlds in multiple Earths.
Namor has been an Avenger, Defender, X-Man with a tempestuous relationship with the Fantastic Four. What will the death of Namor do to the balance of power in the Marvel Universe, how will other allies and enemies of Namor react and what about the Kingdom of Atlantis?
