Marvel is killing off Deadpool?
The Merc With a Mouth is enjoying an incredible ride: he got married in 2014, a solo movie is green lighted for 2016 and the hero is starring in multiple series.
But popularity didn’t stop the Death of Wolverine did it?
Marvel revealed Deadpool will die and Deadpool #250 will be the final issue as revealed exclusively on Nerdist.com.
Current writer Gerry Duggan will be joined by a team of co-writers for the final adventure of Wade Wilson.
Here’s the official description of the final issue.
“DEADPOOL #250 (A.K.A. issue #45)
Written by GERRY DUGGAN, BRIAN POSEHN, BEN ACKER, BEN BLACKER, NICK GIOVANETTI, PAUL SCHEER, JASON MANTZOUKAS, MIKE DRUCKER, & MORE
Penciled by MIKE HAWTHORNE, SCOTT KOBLISH, & MORE
Cover by SCOTT KOBLISH
FINAL ISSUE!
That’s right—if you add together all the Deadpool series (creatively) issue 45 is the big 250th issue of Deadpool! What better way to celebrate than to end the series? In our over-sized main story, ULTIMATUM comes at Deadpool for revenge, so he has no choice but to take them on—ALL OF THEM. Then, in an Infinity Gauntlet crossover, what would Deadpool do if he got the six gems from Thanos? Plus: a slew of stories showcasing Deadpool’s closest friends and allies by special guest writers! Also, SPOILER: Deadpool dies at the end of the issue.”
Just like Wolverine – we know he’s dying but how is the big mystery:
“I will say, though, that the manner in which he dies – even us telling you that he’s dying, it’s not really a spoiler, because when you see how he dies, I think your head will explode,” writer Gerry Duggan told Nerdist.com.
Who will silence the Merc With a Mouth?
Has it really been 250 issues? Feels like yesterday I was running to the store for Deadpool: The Circle Chase – Wade’s first limited series.
