DEADPOOL II WISHES & DREAMS

Deadpool killed it at the box-office setting a rated R movie record and for February. Fans felt the love for Ryan Reynolds’ return as the Merc With the Mouth.

Fox is reportedly already working on a sequel. Producers gave homage to Wade Wilson’s creators Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza with what might be the most hilarious Marvel movie Stan Lee cameo but the story is inspired by the genre changing comic run of Joe Kelly.

After sharing Deadpool’s origin, introducing Vanessa Carlyle, Weasel, Blind Al and Ajax’s “Workshop” where will the writers go next for the sequel?

Here are our sequel wishes as I dream of Deadpool:

It’s betta when it meta! Keep the comedy and letting Wade break the fourth wall. Reynolds’ commentary on the X-Men continuity was hilarious.

Vanessa mutates? There’s no doubting the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin as Wade and Vanessa as the bad boy and girl so good together. In the comics, Vanessa is a mutant code-name Copycat. We first saw Vanessa impersonating Domino in X-Force (on Wade’s orders) before she was revealed to be Copycat. We’ll take Baccarin as a human or mutant.

Cable? If you stayed to see the post-credits scene…SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not seen Deadpool stop reading now.

Seriously.

Here it comes.

Deadpool teased the big screen appearance of Cable in the sequel.

In New Mutants/X-Force, Cable was the hero and Deadpool was hired to track and attack him by a mystery man named Tolliver. Cable is the son of Cyclops raised in a the distant future leading a war against Apocalypse. Cable led the pro-active X-Force team against enemies like Stryfe and the Mutant Liberation Front (a mutant terrorist group) and an immortal mutant named Gideon.

Co-creator Nicieza paired Cable & Deadpool into a hilarious, action buddy book that gained a fan-following and kept the humor, fourth wall breaking fun established by Kelly. The two are now starring in a digital first comic book adventure by Nicieza.

Will Cable be an enemy, ally or will the cyborg mutant and mutant merceary “bromance” evolve in the seque?

Too Many Mutants?

Sequels can often pack too many new mutants. You could pack a follow-up with members of the Wild Pack, Mutant Liberation Front, Agency X plus more X-Men known and new (like Colossus and the Negasonic Teenage Warhead).

Deadpool II Must Haves:

Deadpool is convinced Cable is a bad guy and accepts the bounty to track and take him down. Vanessa/Copycat/Domino gets entangled in the war between merc and mutant cyborg and leaves us guessing until the end.

Who’s the real bad guy? Agent X is Wade’s boss and head of an army of mercenaries who could pit Wilson against Cable. G.W. Bridge is a mercenary turned S.H.I.E.L.D. officer and Cable’s partner/confidante. Only Marvel/Disney can use S.H.I.E.L.D. so how about have Bridge run Weapon Prime, the next evolution of Weapon X which spawned Wolverine and Deadpool.

Watch for a Deadpool or Cable Easter Egg in X-Men: Apocalypse. The first mutant conquers the future but Cable and Deadpool fight to prevent it in an action-packed, darkly comic thrill ride.

Who do you want to see on the big screen in a Deadpool sequel?
