The creators of Cable & Deadpool are back for Deadpool & Cable.
Nothing like having a major motion picture to give you top billing!
Marvel via Polygon announced writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Reilly Brown will reunite for a new twist on the Merc With a Mouth and the cyborg mutant son of Cyclops from the future.
Deadpool & Cable: Split Second will be a six-issue digital first in Marvel’s Infinite Comics format.
Will the time-twisting tale with Wade and Nathan be “buddy bromance” or will the old rivals clash?
The buddy action book will be “love lost and love found,” Nicieza told Polygon.
“It is about struggling through a life of regret and struggling through the soulful tug of conscience that nags at us as a species, tasking us to ask of ourselves, ‘Is this all I am? Is this all I can be? Do I have the courage to be more?’
“If we fail to answers those questions for each and every one of our readers, then we will have failed in our assignment.”
“Also,” adds co-writer/artist Brown, “Deadpool shoots a lot of guys. Don’t forget that part!”
Nicieza co-created Deadpool with Rob Liefeld as an enemy for Cable in the New Mutants/X-Force era of the 90’s then teamed with Brown in 2004 for the team-up bool.
The team says to expect a new villain, time travel and Hydra along with humor and action.
After seeing all the X-Men in the Deadpool trailer fans are hoping Cable and X-Force may be in a sequel or spinoff.
Until then Nathan and Wade are together again in Deadpool & Cable: Split Second this Fall.
