The CW is becoming DCTV.

The Arrow/Flash spinoff is a go and has a title: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

DC Comics and The CW announced the new super hero team show that’s set within the Arrow and Flash universe got a green light for next season.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“When heroes alone are not enough…the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will feature a mix of actors that viewers of The Flash and Arrow are already familiar with and new faces, including Victor Garber (The Flash) Brandon Routh (Arrow), Caity Lotz (Arrow), Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who), Ciarra Renee, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell (The Flash) and Wentworth Miller (The Flash). The series hails from Bonanza Productions, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV with Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter exec producing.”

 

Darvill is playing Rip Hunter in the spinoff.

Earlier this week, CBS greenlit Supergirl and The CW announced that they were renewing iZombie (based on the Vertigo series) for a second season.
