David Tennant and Billie Piper join an all-star cast celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who. Tennant played the Tenth Doctor. Billie Piper played Rose Tyler, who was first companion to the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and then Tennant.

The BBC revealed John Hurt will also appear in the 3D Anniversary Special. Filming begins this week. No word on the acclaimed actor’s role in the special.

Tennant and Piper join current Doctor Who (Matt Smith) and his new companion Jenna-Louise Coleman (Clara Oswin Oswald.) The Eleventh Doctor’s third season kicked off with the Doctor trying to solve the mystery of Clara who appeared (and died?) in Asylum of the Daleks and The Snowmen.
