Trinity War was the big crossover that led to the defeat of the Justice League, and the Forever Evil takeover by the Crime Syndicate.
DC Comics Chief Creative Officer and Justice League writer Geoff Johns teased the next big event via Twitter.
As he pitched Lex Luthor’s continued rise to power and the Doom Patrol in this week’s Justice League #33, he teases The Darkseid War approaches.
Darkseid was the first villain in The New 52 Justice League reboot. There have been references to Darkseid’s homeworld in Earth 2. Glorious Godfrey just seized the body of Damian Wayne, leading Batman to plan a raid on Apokolips to recover his son’s body.’
The Anti-Monitor appeared in the finale of Forever Evil and is on the hunt for Darkseid.
