Daredevil #26 is perfect in every possible way.
Mark Waid and Chris Samnee have created the perfect villain in a tightly wound thriller of an issue with that makes you feel Daredevil’s pain and pressure. Ikari has beaten Matt Murdock into the Man With Fear! Matt is broken, paranoid and scared for his life and the life of his best friend. A cancer-stricken Foggy Nelson tries to keep Matt from losing it and piece together the conspiracy that’s been building since Waid’s first issue. The final revelation of Ikari’s master and the mastermind behind the mindgames against Daredevil is a shocker.
There’s an inspiring backup story with Foggy, the children in his cancer ward and guest starring Iron Man that demonstrates the art and power of graphic storytelling.
Daredevil #26 may be hailed as the best single issue of the year. This is an incredible team of creators are the peak.
