Love him or hate him…Damian Wayne is coming back to the DC Universe (sort of.)

The most recent Robin was born in the Batman arc, Batman and Son by Grant Morrison and killed this year in Batman, Incorporated. Damian was the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul.

Damian: Son of Batman was announced by the New York Post. The story returns to the possible future created by Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert in Batman #666. Superstar artist Kubert will write the new story with art by Andy Clarke.

“I had a big affinity for Damian when I drew Batman issue #666 (in 2007),” Kubert told Parallel Worlds. “I really liked that Batman and always wanted to revisit him. Damian is a bit different than the ‘Bruce Wayne’ Batman. Grant Morrison tweaked his character in a way that made it very endearing for me to draw. And to write.

“Basically, what I’m doing is exploring the path that Damian has taken to become Batman. I think readers will see him in a different light than before,” he added.

Damian: Son of Batman #1 arrives October 30th.

(Personally, my Damian hate turned to love. I wouldn’t mind seeing Damian return but on his own or shaking up the Teen Titans.)
