Major Marvel news as a Guardian of the Galaxy goes solo with wrestling superstar turned up and coming comic book writer.
One of the biggest announcements from Marvel at C2E2 was CM Punk writing a brand new solo series starring Drax.
The wrestling and mixed martial arts star made his comic debut with a Thor annual earlier this year. CM Punk will get in the ring to chronicle what Drax the Destroyer does when he’s not hanging with the Guardians in the first solo series for the alien warrior.
No official word on artist but check out the Drax #1 featuring the Destroyer in an “intergalactic fight club”cover by Ed McGuinness.
A Gamora spinoff is still in the works by Guardians screenwriter Nicole Perlman. Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon already star in their own solo books plus there’s an ongoing Guardians Team-Up book with rotating teams and guest stars.
Drax #1 is coming this Winter.
