SPOILER WARNING

If you didn’t watch last night’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. you may want to stop reading.

Mike Peterson was transformed into the cyborg super soldier known as Deathlok!

“We have been waiting all season for this moment where we can reveal that Mike Peterson’s story arc is an origin story,” Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell tells Marvel.com. “We’re thrilled to have J. August Richards playing Deathlok and to have our audience enjoy this favorite Marvel character on the show.”

“If you would have asked when I was nine-years old what I wanted to be, I would have said a super hero and I’m so excited to be one now as an adult on TV!” said J. August Richards. “It’s a dream come true.”

The original Deathlok (Luther Manning) was created by Doug Moench.  Gregory Wright and the late Dwayne McDuffie would make Michael Collins a modern day Deathlok. Here’s a great Marvel.com interview with Wright about his collaboration with McDuffie.

At the heart of this great character is a killing machine with the heart of a man trapped inside and fighting for his humanity. Will the cybernetic Mike Peterson fight with or against Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D?

Fans of the actor can ask him all those burning Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Angel questions. J. August Richards will be appearing at Emerald City Comicon all three days this year. The Seattle comic and pop culture celebration is March 28-30, 2014.
