Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige teased the fate of Steve Rogers in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

The upcoming sequel is based on the classic comics epic and features a battle between Cap and Tony Stark/Iron Man but will the movie follow the comic story?

“It’s very much, in a certain way, the completion of a Captain America trilogy,” Feige told MTV News. while an event for Avengers: Age of Ultron. “I think one day you’ll look back and watch — ’Captain America: The First Avenger,’ ’Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ and ’Captain America: Civil War’ — and it’ll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character.”

Robert Downey, Jr reprises his role as the Armored Avenger for the film. Feige said non-Cap characters have important roles to play saying, “[We’re] bringing in some of the other players, most importantly Tony Stark, to tell that ’Civil War’ story. But it is very much a sequel to ’Winter Soldier.’”

“The First Avenger” saw birth of Captain America. Will “Civil War” mean the end as this character’s trilogy comes to a close?

Will Chris Evans be back for The Avengers: The Infinity War?

Without spoiling the exact details…both Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Sam Wilson/Falcon have stepped up to become Captain America.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is available now on Blu-ray.

Captain America: Civil War opens May, 2016.
