Marvel’s epic universe changing event Civil War II will expand to an eight issue. Writer Brian Michael Bendis revealed the news earlier.
Marvel announced the finale to the superhero showdown as Civil War II #8 The Final Vision.
Bendis and artist David Marquez will extend the battle in one more climatic issue.
It began with the arrival of Ulysses, an Inhuman with the ability to predict the future. Captain Marvel and Iron Man both suffered incredible personal losses after the Carol’s team acted on the young Inhuman’s power of “predictive justice.”
When we left the series last month, Carol and Tony’s forces were about to attack each other.
The mastermind of the event reveals why the final story needed one more chapter.
“First of all, the response from fans over Civil War II has been so heartwarming,” Bendis told Marvel.com. “Secondly, over the summer I thought of a different, hopefully better, way to tell our ending. It’s not a different ending but a different way to tell it and I am so happy that Marvel gave us this chance to do our thing. Some fans already know that a lot is going to change in the Marvel Universe post-Civil War II but we’ve kept some secrets secret and issue #8 is chock full of them.”
