Marvel and Netflix have found their leading Man Without Fear.
Charlie Cox has been cast as Matt Murdock for the upcoming Daredevil series according to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Cox starred in Boardwalk Empire and Stardust based on the Neil Gaiman fantasy.
Murdock is a blind attorney by day and costumed vigilante by night.
A chemical accident took away Murdock’s sight as a child but heightened his owner senses and gave him a super radar. Murdock would train to become a master of martial arts. Daredevil along with series starring Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones will merge into a Defenders Netflix event series.
Former showrunner Drew Goddard was replaced by Spartacus producer Steven S. DeKnight. Goddard signed up to direct The Sinister Six spinoff but will remain as an Executive Producer.
The 13-episode Marvel’s Daredevil will hit in 2015.
