Big changes for the DC Universe this Fall!

New creative team for Catwoman.

New role for Selina Kyle.

Klarion the Witch Boy makes his New 52 debut in a brand new book.

DC Comics announced via io9 that current Catwoman writer Ann Nocenti will leave the book to launch a brand new Klarion with artist Trevor McCarthy.

Genevieve Valentine and Garry Brown will be new team chronicling Selina Kyle starting with Catwoman #35.

“The Klarion series is a mix of sci-fi, horror and mysticism. Trevor McCarthy is a fabulous artist and he’s bringing a wild, inventive style to the book,” Nocenti told io9. “There is a mystical dimension to this fear that we’re playing with in the Klarion series. Trevor and I are developing a cast of new young witches and wizards, some learn the pagan ways and try to protect the planet; others fall under the spell of the new Tech-Wizards.”

Newcomer Valentine makes her DC debut by taking on the ultimate femme fatale with a new role for Selina.

“Selina Kyle has discovered she’s part of a legacy she never knew before, and heir to the family business,” Valentine told io9.

“She decides to accept the position, both because she sees a chance to restore a ruined Gotham and because, deep down, Selina’s always played power games against herself. In this arc, she’ll be coming face to face with what she’s willing to do to keep her power, on a scale that could shake the whole city.”

No official word on how the upcoming Catwoman book will tie into the Batman Eternal and the Dark Knight.

If you remember Batman #28 we saw 6 months into the future. Selina was running the Gotham underworld, was no longer Catwoman and was holding Stephanie Brown (aka The Spoiler) hostage.

KLARION #1 arrives October 8th.

CATWOMAN #35 hits on October 22nd.
