Anne Hathaway Would Have Been Black Cat in Spidey 4

Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do #2 courtesy Marvel.com

Speculation is fun but sometimes Hollywood confessions make you ponder what might have been. Case in point: Imagine Anne Hathaway as Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat! Director Sam Raimi tells Vulture he wanted the now Oscar winner to play the femme fatale in Spider-Man 4 and about how his fourth Spidey film didn’t happen.

“It really was the most amicable and undramatic of breakups: It was simply that we had a deadline and I couldn’t get the story to work on a level that I wanted it to work. I was very unhappy with Spider-Man 3, and I wanted to make Spider-Man 4 to end on a very high note, the best Spider-Man of them all. But I couldn’t get the script together in time, due to my own failings, and I said to Sony, “I don’t want to make a movie Continue reading Anne Hathaway Would Have Been Black Cat in Spidey 4

Whovians are counting down to the return of Doctor Who! In the second half of the new season the Time Lord and new companion Clara will face an old enemy! The reptilian Ice Warriors from Mars have a new look as you can see in this image courtesy BBC One.

The Time Lord last fought the Ice Warriors in the The Monster of Peladon starring Jon Pertwee as the Doctor and Elizabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith back in 1974.

Tony Stark faces the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 this May but right now in the comic books the Armored Avenger is deep trouble in deep space.

Godkiller continues this week in Iron Man #7! Tony Stark invented a weapon to contain the Phoenix Force in Avengers vs. X-Men. We know how that turned out! Will Tony pay the ultimate price for this cosmic crime? Kieron Gillen’s new arc introduces a new alien race that are related to the Shi’ar. Uncanny Avengers vs. Apocalypse!

The Uncanny Avengers become targets of the classic X-Men villain Apocalypse in the next arc. The immortal mutant played a huge role in Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force run even though he didn’t appear in his iconic form. Remender tells Marvel.com how Apocalypse factors into the next arc Ragnarok Now.

“Well the important thing was to find a way to mix the A and the X. And that was a lot of work. So I threw out most of my outline for the sequel to the Dark Angel Saga. And I kept the four most important things that I was excited about and the things that most closely tie in to characters like Wolverine or Sunfire, characters that have been tainted by this and manipulated by [Apocalypse]. So as I was building [the story], it was important to find how it was an X-Men story and also Continue reading Uncanny Avengers vs. Apocalypse!

CABLE AND X-FORCE Family Values

A book for Hope Summers fans to watch out for! Cable faces his daughter, the mutant messiah of Avengers vs. X-Men in this week’s Cable and X-Force #8.

Hope Summers has been “exiled” from the flagship X-titles. I wanted to share some of writer Dennis Hopeless’s take on the Summers family dynamic. He says he’s explore Nathan’s relationship with the girl he raised and his father, Cyclops.

“I think in both cases, the relationship is hard because of how similar the fathers are to their children. Hope drives Cable nuts because she’s just like him. She’s headstrong and self-righteous, quick to grab a gun and solve every problem herself. Cable knows she learned it by watching him but wants his daughter to have an easier life than he did. Also, he trained her for life in a post-apocalyptic Continue reading CABLE AND X-FORCE Family Values
