Doctor Who is celebrating his 50th Anniversary with a new companion, new monsters and the return of old enemies. As we await the return of new episodes and details of the 50th Anniversary special I am flashing back to my favorite memories of the Time Lord.

Doctor Who’s adventures in time and space launched in 1963 but I didn’t catch up until Continue reading Doctor Who, My First Time

DC Comics and incoming Green Lantern writer responded to rumors that John Stewart will be killed off.

DC Comics Executive Publicity Director Alex Segura said via Twitter:

“Seeing a lot of unverified reports on this. To clarify: John Stewart is not going anywhere”

Robert Venditti said via Twitter:

“Lots of rumors out there. Here’s the truth: Van and I have never even contemplated killing John Stewart.”

“We have plenty of plans for John. Plans that probably wouldn’t work as well if he was, you know, dead”

Joshuah Hale Fialkov resigned from Green Lantern Corps and Red Lanterns earlier this week sparking the rumors.

Captain America rallies the remaining heroes against the relentless army of Ultron.

But Marvel teases that Wolverine “makes the most controversial decision that Marvel Universe has ever seen – and when fans see who agrees with him, they’ll be chomping at the bit for more.”

Does this mean Logan will turn against Steve?

All-New X-Men, Kitty Pryde in Control

All-New X-Men #6 courtesy Marvel

Mystique and Sabretooth are showcased in all their mutant malevolence on the cover of this week’s All-New X-Men #9 but Kitty Pryde is the star of this latest chapter by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen so I chose this commanding cover to issue 6 for this story.

I remember way back when Kitty was calling herself Sprite (or was it Ariel? She changed code names and costumes so much back then!) and Kitty didn’t join to join the X-Babies (aka the original New Mutants.) The phasing mutant may have had trouble finding her identity then but Kitty Pryde is confident in her new role as teacher in All-New X-Men and it’s amazing to see and a joy to read. Jason Aaron started the transformation of Kitty when he made her co-headmaster of the Jean Grey School. Under Brian Michael Bendis, Kitty has assumed the role of teacher/mentor/taskmaster to the original X-Men who Beast brought into the future.
I love seeing Kitty being cool and confident as she drills tactics Continue reading All-New X-Men, Kitty Pryde in Control
