The BFG

Steven Spielberg directs this children’s tale of a young girl and a big friendly giant fighting to stop an army of evil, hungry giants. July 1.

Passengers

When Mystique met Peter Quill? No, but Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt star in a sci-fi romance from the director of The Intimidation Game. Pratt plays a man who awakens from his ship’s sleep chamber too early and awakens another from hibernation rather than live and die alone. December 21. Deadpool and Cable: Split Second #1

The Merc With a Mouth reunites with Cyclops’ cyborg future son. Back in the 90’s Wade and Cable co-starred in a “buddy” adventure. Fabian Nicieza and Reilly Brown throw in time travel, Hydra and a new villain in this digital first limited series but what about Deadpool and Cable? Is the bromance back or will they be mortal enemies again?

Lazarus #21

The welcome return of Greg Rucka and Michael Lark’s sci-fi epic after a break while Rucka launched Black Magick (issue 3 is also out this week.) This is the finale of the current arc that changes everything. Forever is born to kill and fight for her family – one of 16 that rule the future. Black Panther

After playing a central role as King of the Dead and The Illuminati in Jonathan Hickman’s New Avengers/Secret Wars epic, T’Challa returns to his Wakanda in a brand new series and officially joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

T’Challa and Namor are leading an assault on Doctor Doom in Secret Wars #9 finale in January and T’Challa is now a member of the new Ultimates.

SUPERMAN FULLY POWERED in 2016

Superman – Back to full power in 2016.

This year saw The Man of Steel fall after losing his powers after gaining a massive new power. Following Convergence which relaunched DC with a less powerful Superman, all-new Batman and new costume for Wonder Woman – it’s getting back to the icons we know and love.

Stripped of powers and his secret identity exposed, the iconic hero was down in the Truth arc but will rise soar again as revealed in the DC Comics March 2016 previews.

Kal El’s return to greatness begins in January with The Savage Dawn featuring Clark’s rematch with Vandal Savage – who will be the main villain on Legends of Tomorrow.
