The Dark Knight Rises Prologue Raises a Big Question

Is there a connection between Bane and Harvey Dent? First, there was photo in Empire Magazine of Bane holding up Dent’s campaign photo. Second, Commissioner Gordon is eulogizing Dent in the The Dark Knight Rises IMAX prologue followed by an action piece featuring Bane that would impress James Bond.

I will not give any spoilers away but the prologue is astounding. After seeing it – I really feel anything could happen including the much rumored breaking of Batman. The only trouble is – I couldn’t tell you what Tom Hardy said, but he said it very menacingly.

Batmaniacs, come for The Dark Knight Rises prologue stay for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Brad Bird directed one of the best super hero movies ever, The Incredibles, and now he’s given us the best MI film. The latest adventure is stylish, gripping and fun with the grittiest mission yet. Ethan Hunt’s rogue team must clear their names and save the world in a plot that’s familiar but makes sense – an MI first. Cruise, Patton, Pegg, and Renner are a perfect foursome each delivering great elements to form a great team.

Kitty Pryde Online

One of my favorite X-Women is newest playable character in Super Hero Squad Online. On the Marvel site they are calling her by her former code name: Shadowcat, but she’s sporting the blue and yellow look.

In Wolverine and the X-Men, Kitty is co-headmaster with Logan of the new Jean Grey School. Seeing Shadowcat takes me back to her blue/black look in Uncanny X-Men then Excalibur. The Shadowcat costume had a Black Canary but with a mask feel – and my favorite.

But one look that’s really scary for Kitty – pregnant and surrounded by Brood! Click here to see the preview from the February issue of Wolverine and the X-Men.

With Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Nick Fury assembled for the big screen version of The Avengers how much will we see Black Widow?

“The Widow has a great story. I think Joss did a brilliant job of weaving together all of these characters storylines. It is no small feat for him.” Scarlett Johansson told MTV News.

“I love the Widow. I think she’s got an interesting journey,” the actress continued, “We get gritty. We get real gritty in this.”

Earlier Scarlett Johansson said she was ready for a Black Widow solo movie given the Widow’s history. Johansson said there’s no word yet on if she will be part of Iron Man #3.

The Black Widow goes solo in Secret Avengers #20. Writer Warren Ellis weaves a tale in which her teammates are dead and Natasha is trapped in the past with the chance to save them.

Christopher Nolan on Leaving Batman and Batmania

Christopher Nolan is talking about leaving Batman behind.

“…you definitely get a lump in your throat thinking that, ‘OK, this is the last time we’re going to be doing this.’ It’s been quite a journey. Hopefully, reflecting that journey – by all of us who made the films – in the three films together will make it so there they have a real span to them, some real heft” the Director tells Los Angeles Times Hero Complex.

After a recent press screening of The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan says he welcomes the Batman fan mania for what it represents.

“It reminds you that it’s an honor to work on something that means so much to people.”

Christian Bale Beaten and Chased in China

A real life scare for Dark Knight Rises star  Christian Bale that could have happened in Batman Begins. The actor is in China to promote his movie The Flowers of War and wanted to meet an activist he considers a hero.

X-Men Director and Star Go Giant Killing!

Bryan Singer, Director of X-Men and X2: X-Men United, has a giant of a 3D summer movie coming next year. Singer recruited from the cinematic X-Men family for an actor to play his hero.

Nicholas Hoult, who played Hank McCoy in X-Men:First Class and a giant of a guy, will play Jack in Jack the Giant Killer based on the classic fairy tale. Stanley Tucci and Ian McShane also star. Christopher McQuarrie, a frequent Singer collaborator, worked on the script.

Warner Brothers released the teaser trailer:
