DOMINO & DAREDEVIL Flashback Friday

X-Men #38 courtesy Marvel

This week’s big news of a Daredevil series from Netflix and the first issue of Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe made me think of…Domino?

Hang in with me. Domino has luck power like Longshot. A new X-Force was announced without Neena on the team. All this made me think of when the luckiest mutant teamed up with the Man Without Fear.

In the category of “….and now for something completely different…” Continue reading DOMINO & DAREDEVIL Flashback Friday

Victoria Hand is making the leap to television in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Saffron Burrows joins the hit as Victoria Hand on the next episode (November 12th.)

“We decided it was time to send little S.H.I.E.L.D., our show’s team of six, into the big S.H.I.E.L.D. facility,” Continue reading Whedon On Victoria Hand On Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

You could call her Coulson with a very, very dark side!

A ruthless comic book character is making the leap to television in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Saffron Burrows joins the spy game as Victoria Hand on the next episode (November 12th)

Hand was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato during their New Avengers run. During the post-Secret Invasion – Dark Reign era, Norman Osborn (Spidey villain Green Goblin) had convinced the U.S. government he was a reformed man and was put in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. which he renamed H.A.M.M.E.R. and he even had his own Dark Avengers (villains masquerading as the fan favorite heroes.) Hand was a S.H.I.E.L.D. accountant promoted to be Osborn’s right hand. After Osborn’s downfall Captain America recruited Hand to work for the Avengers.

From the new shots courtesy Marvel it looks like Hand is a major player within S.H.I.E.L.D. but if she’s anything like her comic book counterpart…Coulson and company should watch out!

Saffron Burrows as Victoria Hand appears on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. next Tuesday, November 12th. This could be a critical episode to watch for future of the series.

The special Captain Marvel Carol Corps issue is out today. To celebrate the arrival of Captain Marvel #17 I wanted to share the final part of my one on one with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick at GeekGirlCon.

The Carol Corps would love to see Carol Danvers make the leap from comic books to television or a movie. Could we see Carol on an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or an Avengers sequel or possibly her own series or solo movie?

I asked DeConnick what’s the most important for filmmakers to get right about Carol in transitioning the fan-favorite Avenger from comic book to other mediums.

Janet Van Dyne is famous for her fashion sense and ever-changing uniforms. The mighty and mighty chic Avenger is currently serving on the Uncanny Avengers Unity Squad after coming back from the microverse in the previous Avengers volume.

I had a double take this weekend at GeekGirlCon 2013 in Seattle – the third annual celebration of women in geek culture.

You have to admire the dedication of a cosplayer who works not one but two looks for the hero they love. I salute this geek girl I met at GeekGirlCon. On Saturday she sported the retro Wasp look complete with headpiece and visor seen here with a woman with great taste in an Avenging Archer! Continue reading WASP Double Cosplay at GeekGirlCon
