The Ninth Doctor (as played by Christopher Eccleston) is back in brand new comic book adventure by Cavan Scott from Titan Comics. Ten years after the Time Lord’s television comeback, The Ninth Doctor along with his fan-favorite companions are together again in a new story: Weapons of Past Destruction.

Scott has written a series of Doctor Who spinoff radio plays, short stories and co-authored Doctor Who: Who-ology. In our interview I asked about the impact of The Ninth Doctor and how his new story fits into the timeline:

How AGENTS OF SHIELD Is AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Prequel

The original team is back together again in an action-packed, drama-filled episode that all builds up to Earth’s Mightiest Sequel.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. bridges Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

This week a seismic shift in the Coulson’s S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Real S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Hydra war led to strange alliances, visions and is a direct prequel to this weekend’s big sequel.

Mike Peterson aka Deathlok and Lincoln the Inhuman are captured by Hydra. Traitor Grant Ward, Skye with her new powers and Agents of both S.H.I.E.L.D. teams unite to get them back.

Forget hints and Easter Eggs, producers drop huge direct hits that set up the opening action in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

MARVEL Celebrates 50 Years of SHIELD

Marvel announced big plans for the 50th Anniversary of S.H.I.E.L.D. at C2E2 with brand new one-shots and massive collections of great spy stories by legendary creators.

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law Enforcement Division in Strange Tales # 135 in 1965. Nick Fury and his top agents leaped into Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. by Jim Steranko.

The legendary super spy agency now appears in S.H.I.E.L.D. by Mark Waid, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , Agent Carter and a third spinoff television series in the works plus Marvel’s Cinematic Universe including the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Continue reading MARVEL Celebrates 50 Years of SHIELD

AL EWING On DOCTOR WHO: THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR

With Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor writer Al Ewing (Loki: Agent of Asgard, Mighty Avengers) gives us new comic book adventures starring the previous Time Lord played by Matt Smith.

It’s one of expanding Doctor Who series from Titan Comics starring the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors.

New companion Alice was a sad library assistant in London feeling empty and gray after a family tragedy when the Eleventh Doctor burst into her life with a colorful, strange entrance. Instead of falling into Wonderland, the wonder and spirit of the Eleventh Doctor series falls into her world and before our eyes.

Sometimes young girls can be mischievous like Harley Quinn or noble like Supergirl but we hope they grow up to become a Wonder Woman.

A whole heroic universe is coming…just for girls with some familiar characters as you’ve never seen them before.

DC Comics is the home of Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl and more famous female heroes and bad girls. The publisher is teaming up with Warner Brothers and Mattel Toys to create a new universe of storytelling to inspire and empower young girls.

BLOODSHOT, HARBINGER Comics To Movies

Valiant’s Bloodshot and Harbinger are hitting the big screen.

Valiant Entertainment and Sony Pictures announced a five picture deal according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bloodshot will be directed by the team behind John Wick: David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, working with a screenplay by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) and Eric Heisserer. Matthew Vaughn and Jason Kothari will act as executive producers. This film is being targeted for 2017.

Heisserer is working on the Harbinger. No word on possible directors.

ADRIANNE PALICKI & NICK BLOOD In AGENTS OF SHIELD Spinoff

Marvel and ABC are reportedly planning a spinoff of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are in talks to headline the new series according to Deadline.

Palicki joined the cast this season as Barbara “Bobbi” Morse known to comics fans as Mockingbird. Blood played mercenary Lance Hunter. Both characters were new recruits by Phil Coulson and quickly became fan favorites.

Morse started out as Coulson’s mole within Hydra but turns out she’s really working for “the real S.H.I.E.L.D.” a rival unit led by Edward James Olmos. The events of this season and Avengers: Age of Ultron would play into the set-up for Morse and Hunter getting their own series. CAPTAIN MARVEL Movie Writers

The woman who helped introduce Star-Lord, Groot, Gamora, Drax and Rocket to the big screen will do the same for the cosmic Avenger.

Marvel makes it official:

Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve will write the script for the Captain Marvel movie featuring Carol Danvers.
