Up, Up and Away!

CBS is adding DC Comics Girl Power to Mondays this Fall. At the Up Fronts this week the networks revealed their fall schedules and first looks at the new shows.

Supergirl soared in a first look trailer with Melissa Benoist is Kara Zor-El, cousin of the Man of Steel.

After a brief scene on doomed Krypton we see the future heroine in her human secret identity working for media mogul Cat Grant () and falling for Jimmy Olsen (Mechad Brooks) and a life changing moment involving her sister (Chyler Leigh)

NEW MUTANTS Is Next FOX X-MEN Spinoff

Fox is evolving its X-Men franchise.

Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) has signed on to direct a film based on New Mutants, a standalone spinoff according to Deadline. Boone will co-write with Knate Gwaltney. Simon Kinberg and Laura Shuler-Donner will produce.

AGENTS OF SHIELD VS INHUMANS BURNING QUESTIONS

You could call Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Two a mother of a mashup of monsters, myths and family matters. Multiple story arcs came together in an intense, action and twist packed finale that sets the stage for even bigger battles on the show in on the big screen.

Titan Comics announced a 5-part weekly event written by Paul Cornell and illustrated by Neil Edwards, starring the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors and their comics companions. Cornell wrote classic episodes from the Doctor Who TV series (‘Father’s Day’, ‘Human Nature/Family of Blood’, both Hugo-nominated), classic Doctor Who novels, as well as successful comic book runs on titles such as Wolverine, Demon Knights, and Captain Britain and MI:13. MORE MARVEL HEROES For CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Filming of Captain America: Civil War is underway. Chris Evans as Steve Rogers leads an all-star cast in the follow-up to Age of Ultron.

We knew Robert Downey Jr. return would return as Tony Stark. Now we know the super sequel could be hailed as an Avengers 2.5.

The film will include Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther and Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13. This film could be the first time we see the new Spider-Man born from the Marvel/Sony partnership.

Based on the comics storyline, when the government passes the Superhero Registration Act – it fractures the Avengers and a Civil War among the costumed heroes doesn’t stay civil.

AGENT CARTER, AGENTS OF SHIELD Renewed

Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be back for new missions next season. ABC announced it will pick up both series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hayley Atwell will return as Peggy Carter for the second season of prequel series set after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 1946. No official word on if co-stars James D’Arcy (Edwin Jarvis) and Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark) will return. The retro series was filled with Marvel Easter Eggs and origins including the Red Room of Russia’s Black Widow program, future Iron Man villains and the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D. The CW is becoming DCTV.

The Arrow/Flash spinoff is a go and has a title: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

DC Comics and The CW announced the new super hero team show that’s set within the Arrow and Flash universe got a green light for next season.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“When heroes alone are not enough…the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself.
