Will Star Trek’s Chris Pine beam down to Earth for Warner Brothers and DC Comics Wonder Woman film opposite Gal Gadot.
Pine is in talks to join the project as Steve Trevor according to Variety although the studio did not comment. Patty Jenkins is directing the solo film starring the Amazon warrior.
In comics Steve Trevor was U.S. Army Intelligence officer who crashed on Paradise Island in World War II. Diana rescued him, nursed him back to health and followed him back to America. In modern continuity Trevor is Diana’s government liaison officer and with the Justice League on behalf of the United Nations. Steve falls in love with Wonder Woman but is humiliated when she chooses Superman. Will the X-Men go down fighting the Morlocks in X-Men: Apocalypse?
Director Bryan Singer teased a major part of mutant history via Instagram:
The director was calling the shot in a tunnel looking set with the description:
“Shooting Caliban’s place of “business” #XMen #XMenApocalypse”
In comics, the Morlocks were a group of disfigured mutants who lived in seclusion beneath the tunnels of Manhattan. This hidden tribe was named after the mutants of the future in The Time Machine by H.G. Wells.
Chris Pratt could be the biggest leading man of summer box-office again. After soaring as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy last summer, Pratt is battling dinosaurs in Jurassic World and he’s the GQ cover guy next month.
Not bad for the Lake Stevens, Washington native and former sitcom star.
There is no denying Pratt now but in the upcoming issue he reveals how actors would hit on Anna Faris and like he wasn’t there.

The New Mutants could be the next evolution of the X-Men film franchise. Fox recruited Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) to direct a spinoff film based on the spinoff comic.
Teen angst, isolation, romantic crushes and finding new friends from diverse worlds – mixed with emerging mutant powers, danger room sessions and crazy villains – it’s all in a day at Xavier’s School. The New Mutants are perfect back to school basics to evolve the franchise.
Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) has signed on to direct a film based on New Mutants, a standalone spinoff according to Deadline. Boone will co-write with Knate Gwaltney. Simon Kinberg and Laura Shuler-Donner will produce.
