Vin Diesel as Vision in Avengers Sequel?

Avengers Origins: Vision courtesy Marvel.

This is just a rumor…

Vin Diesel as the Vision in Avengers 2? Images of the the android have been posted on the actor’s Facebook page according to ComicBook.com which has fans and bloggers speculating so I thought I’d sound off.

I can picture Diesel as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy…maybe even as Thanos.

After seeing Prometheus my vision for the Vision is Michael Fassbender.

I’m just glad it’s in Joss Whedon’s hands.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Dark Knight Future

SPOILER WARNING

IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN “THE DARK KNIGHT RISES” YOU MAY NOT WANT TO READ THIS POST

SERIOUSLY

OK

HERE IT COMES

ONE LAST CHANCE

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance as John Blake an outstanding performance in The Dark Knight Rises. Christopher Nolan left us with an intriguing possibility for the future of Batman…perhaps a Dark Knight Legacy.

Police officer John Blake aka Robin was a hybrid of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake. In the end John appears to be rising to become Gotham City’s new protector.

Would the actor take on a lead role in a giant franchise like Batman?

“I always choose scripts the same way,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “If it’s a great script and a great filmmaker, then I’m interested.”

The star faced the question on Tuesdays Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“I don’t think [the ending of The Dark Knight Rises] is necessarily a set-up. I think it is the great ending for that trilogy,” he said. “Even if you go back to Batman Begins, he’s talking about how Batman is more than a man, it’s a symbol, and a hero can be anybody and we all have heroes inside of us.”

Here’s my geek theory on how the Batman can move on with Joseph Gordon-Levitt but NOT as Batman! The star has two action films coming up: Premium Rush and the sci-fi flick Looper.

Daredevil That Could Have Been- Groovy Man!

Time is running on Fox keeping the movie rights to Daredevil. Director Joe Carnahan has released his “sizzle reel” showing the 1970’s vibe his take on the The Man Without Fear would have been. This reel is reportedly how Carnahan sold his Serpico style pitch to the studio. The reel combines art from Frank Miller’s acclaimed Born Again storyline with music and footage from 1970’s movies like Superfly and The Warriors and the 2005 Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck. This film would have been set in 1974 in a very violent Hell’s Kitchen. Can you dig it?

Daredevil #17 courtesy Marvel.com

Given the current success of the Mark Waid’s more upbeat reboot of Daredevil, I’m not sure if the gritty version would work if the film rights do to back to Marvel. I still dream of Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist solo movies followed by a big team up. Kind of a street level Avengers.

Daredevil featuring the art of Mike Allred is out this week in comic book shops!

Thanks to Comic Book Resources for the movie update.

Hugh Jackman on The Wolverine

Wolverine #2 courtesy Marvel

Hugh Jackman is shooting The Wolverine in Australia now and says the new film stands alone and will not directly tie to the Logan’s previous solo movie.

“We’ve deliberately not called it Wolverine 2 because we want it to be placed and feel like a standalone picture,” Jackman tells Total Film (via Coventry Telegraph). “With an all-new cast and setting it in Japan, it’s going to give us a whole new visual aesthetic.”

The Wolverine is based on the story by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, set in Japan and Logan battles the Silver Samurai.

  Thanks Spinoff Online.

Op/Ed: Now that we know the X-Men: First Class sequel will be based on Days of Future Past it would make sense to have Jackman play a much older Logan in the sequel’s nightmare future scenes. This would be a great swan song for Jackman as the cinematic Wolverine.
