The X-Men movie franchise is jumping into a new decade – one that was a blockbuster era for the comic book.
The current trilogy is leaping through the decades. First Class was set in the 1960’s in the heart of the Cold War. Days of Future Past was set in the 1970’s during the Nixon era and reset the timeline. X-Men:Apocalypse rises in 1983 in this summer’s sequel.
Producer Simon Kinberg confirmed the next film will time jump again:
“The next one is set in the ’90’s” said Kinberg according to ComingSoon.

EMP’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame celebrates the people and works that have made significant contributions to the science fiction and fantasy genres.
In anticipation of the Hall of Fame’s 20th anniversary, EMP expands the exhibit to include two categories: Creators and Creations. After inviting the public to submit their nominations, a committee of science fiction and fantasy experts from across the media landscape narrowed down this list from nearly 2,000 submissions to the final twenty nominees, which include authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, The Matrix filmmakers Lana and Lilly Wachowski, blockbuster franchises Star Trek, Star Wars, and dystopian novels 1984 and Brave New World, the film Blade Runner, plus all the icons named above.

Cable (Nathan Summers) is the son of Cyclops. The mutant (telekinetic) was infected by what was called a “techno-organic” virus as a child, taken into the future to be saved. Nathan grew up in a world ruled by Apocalypse. When we first met Nathan and Wade, Cable was leading New Mutants (which would evolve into X-Force) and Deadpool was hired to track Cable.
Later on, Deadpool and Cable shared a team-up book together.
